Project updates - September 2025
Welcome to the September 2025 project update. In this edition, we share the latest developments on the Goombi Wind Farm, announce the next round of community sponsorships, introduce our newest team member, and provide details of our upcoming community catch-ups in Miles and Chinchilla.
Community Information Sessions
On 14th August, community information sessions were held at the Creek Café in Miles and the Chinchilla RSL. More than 30 community members attended across both sessions, including representatives from Western Downs Regional Council, Chinchilla Community Commerce & Industry, the Miles Community Centre, local businesses, and local landholders. Attendees had the opportunity to speak with members of the Goombi Renewable Energy Hub project team, who provided updates and addressed questions. Feedback highlighted key community interests including housing, traffic, road use, and opportunities for local procurement.
Community Engagement Officer
We are delighted to welcome Catrina Brimblecombe as the new Community Engagement Officer for the Goombi Renewable Energy Hub.
Catrina is a lifelong Chinchilla local with a background in land liaison. She will be your primary point of contact for questions and discussions about the project, ensuring that the community has a dedicated local representative.

• Applications close: 5pm, Thursday 31 October 2025
• Eligible groups: Local not-for-profit organisations, associations, and clubs that contribute positively to the community
