Celebrating the October 2025 Communities Fund Recipients
Eighteen community groups from Chinchilla and Miles have shared in $25,000 of funding as recipients of the Goombi Renewable Energy Hub Communities Fund. These organisations were selected for their commitment to delivering projects and events that enhance the liveability and vibrancy of the region.
GEH is pleased to support the following successful applicants by providing a funding contribution towards:
Friends of Illoura
Funding will support the purchase of Rollz Rhythm walkers for the Parkinson’s Rhythm and Mobility group, helping improve gait, balance and quality of life for participants.
Apex Club of Chinchilla
Purchase of new Christmas lights for the Botanic Parkland display to continue and enhance this much-loved community tradition.
Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc
Delivery of an inclusive, family-friendly Community Christmas Party with improved entertainment and activities.
Chinchilla Agricultural and Pastoral Association Inc
Support for costs associated with the Poultry, Floriculture, Pots and Plants Pavilion, helping maintain a high-quality, safe and accessible experience for families.
Chinchilla Clay Target Club
Installation of security screens to protect items stored within the clubhouse and improve safety for venue users.
Chinchilla Gymnastics Club
Funding for event costs and prizes for the 2025 Club Championships, supporting participation and community development.
Chinchilla Community Kindergarten
Creation of an Indigenous sensory garden to promote cultural learning, wellbeing and sensory development for all children.
Chinchilla Little Athletics
Purchase of new sporting equipment and improved storage to enhance participation and access for players.
Chinchilla Netball
Purchase of new netball equipment to support training and game opportunities for players.
Chinchilla Sharks Swimming Club
Funding for event costs and prizes for the 2025 Open Swimming Carnival, encouraging participation and celebrating achievement.
Condamine Gun Club Inc
Support for the 2026 Annual 2-Day Trap Carnival through funding for event expenses and trophies, helping deliver a successful and well-run competition for participants and spectators
Lapunyah Art Gallery Inc
Funding to attract more professional and touring exhibitions, enhancing cultural experiences and community engagement.
Miles and District Show Society
Support for prize costs across stud cattle, poultry, equine, and arts and crafts, contributing to a high-quality and well-supported annual show.
Miles Bowls Club
Upgrade of audio-visual equipment to improve facilities for club members, guests and community users.
Miles Golf Club Inc
Upgrades to essential amenities ahead of hosting the 2026 Queensland Sandgreen Championships, supporting long-term sustainability and event capacity.
Miles Tennis Club Inc
Purchase of nets, post padding and balls to support coaching, competition and social play for players of all ages.
Murilla Community Centre Inc
Removal of a large playground tree posing safety risks, ensuring a safe outdoor environment for children.
Murilla Community Kindergarten
Installation of Food cube self-watering garden beds to support hands-on learning, sustainability and healthy eating education.
