Project updates - June 2025

Development of the Goombi Renewable Energy Hub continues to progress, with a number of key activities ongoing to support the assessment, design and evolution of the project.

  • Community Information Sessions were held in Chinchilla, Miles and Cameby over the course of 24th and 25th March. Thank you to all who attended in the rain; it was great to catch up and to hear your feedback.

  • A second met mast was installed towards the end of May to support the ongoing wind monitoring data campaign which is underway. The mast is located on private property between Peak Road, Lees Road and the Warrego Highway.

  • A number of specialist consultants have been undertaking field surveys over the past couple of months, focussing on important issues such as bushfire, noise, soil quality, transport & access, and environmental considerations. The Project is targetting submission of its DA and EPBC applications later this year.
